Hi, as you may have guessed my name is Michael. I am a photographer born and raised in Rochester, NY. I moved to New York City in 2006, and absolutely love it. I have been a photographer for over ten years, and also work in the Marketing Department at B&H Photo Video Inc. My position at B&H has allowed me to travel a great deal and has unveiled an unparalleled world of photographic opportunity. As a photographer I am mostly self taught. I initially went to school for Environmental Engineering, and quickly realized my place was behind the lens. I went on to work for years as a photographer and assistant to most of the photographers in Rochester. In addition I also found my way into working production on numerous television commercials, and various film projects. I love photography. I love making images. I spend almost every minute of my waking life involved in some part of that process. Photographically my interests run the gamut, from macro to time lapse. From still life to documentary. I feel the need to constantly experiment, and to constantly push my own boundaries. I have been extremely lucky to travel to amazing destinations such as Bosnia and Hercegovina, and China. Both trips became paradigm shifts for me in many ways. By nature I am extremely curious, I just want to know.. To see.. And above all I want to tell stories and leave some sort of indelible mark.
